How To Get to the Sydney Lyric

Sydney Lyric is located in the inner-city suburb of Pyrmont and is easily accessible via public transport, taxi or car with ample parking nearby. Plan your journey by calling 131 500 or visit Sydney Transport Info website.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

When visiting our theatre, you will comply by the Conditions of Entry current at the time of the performance you are attending.

Transport Info

  • Train

    If you are visiting us by train, get off at Central Station and transfer to Light Rail. Plan your trip by train.

  • Bus

    Bus route 389 stops at the Maritime Museum, 3 minutes walk from the Sydney Lyric. Plan your trip by bus.

  • Driving

    Permanent traffic changes are now in place on and around George Street. Motorists travelling to the Sydney Lyric should note, these changes may affect the amount of time that it takes for you to drive & park near the theatre. Plan ahead by checking the LiveTraffic website here. Taking public transport may be the most efficient and reliable option, particularly when you are travelling in the peak time between 5-7pm in the evening.

Special Parking Rate

We recommend Harbourside Car Park, Wilsons Parking. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the theatre, with a special all day (not overnight) $13 parking rate for Sydney Lyric Theatre patrons. Use codeword LYRIC when booking your Harbourside parking and make sure to not select a time period of over 24 hours.

Please note:

  • Harbourside car park now has Book A Bay licence plate recognition. When you enter the car park, your licence plate is scanned and the boom gate will open automatically (this means your booking has been recognized). If your licence plate is not recognised or you are driving a different car to your booking, you can tap or insert your nominated credit card.
  • Valid for one entry and one exit only.
  • You must enter and exit within your pre-booked period.
  • There is a one hour grace period prior to your entry time and following your exit time (pending car park operating hours) to allow for unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please check the car park location.

The car park at The Star is also available and can be entered from Pirrama Road in Pyrmont. Disabled parking bays are located in the vicinity of the car park entrance lobbies. Full parking rates apply.

Please note, both car parks regularly reach capacity by 5pm - 6pm on Friday and Saturday evenings.
