Nothing is more important than the health and safety of all that visit our theatres. To ensure that we keep everyone as safe as is reasonably possible the Sydney Lyric introduced an array of COVID Safety protocols that remain in place today. These requirements may change based on advice from NSW Health, so please be sure to visit this page prior to your visit for the most up to date information for the latest information. Updated 3 August 2022.

MASKS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Masks are highly recommended at all times you are in the theatre for those aged 12+.

IF YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ISOLATE, STAY HOME: If you or someone in your group have been directed to stay home by NSW Health, please contact Ticketmaster online (or by calling 1300 795 267 and pressing option 1) as soon as you are aware that you are not able to attend your booked performance and they will do their best to assist you. Please note, the deadline to contact Ticketmaster is Midday (for an evening performance) & 10am (for a matinee performance). ***You are required to submit a screen shot of your PCR text message confirming Covid-19 positive results or a screen shot showing you have registered your Covid-19 RAT results with the NSW Government via your Service NSW account. This must occur prior to the above deadlines.*** Please note, Ticketmaster call centre operating hours are Mon-Sun 9am-5pm.

CAPACITY LIMITS & SEATING CONFIGURATIONS: The Sydney Lyric may play up to 100% capacity for all performances. There will not be physical distancing within the auditorium, and you may have patrons sitting directly next to, in front of, and behind you.

AUDITORIUM ACCESS: Our auditorium doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time to allow plenty of time for you to move safely to your seat. Once you have purchased food & beverage, merchandise and visited the restrooms, we ask that you move swiftly to your seat to avoid crowding in the foyers.

QUEUING & MOVING AROUND THE THEATRE: To assist with social distancing, we strongly encourage you to stay in your allocated seat, or move swiftly back to your allocated seat once you have used the foyer amenities. When you move around the theatre foyers, please follow the signs and directions of our theatre team.

THEATRE BARS: Theatre and auditorium bars will be open, however we encourage you to purchase your items and make your way to your seats before you consume them.

CASHLESS: All of our outlets are cashless, and we can only accept contactless payments at our bars, box office and merchandise shops.

SANITISE, SANITISE, SANITISE: We will have hand sanitising stations located at several points of the theatre for your use. Please make sure to use these regularly during your visit.

CONTINUOUS CLEANING: Our theatre foyers and auditorium receive a professional deep clean after every performance, and our professional cleaning staff will remain on site throughout the performance to constantly clean washrooms, touchpoints and high traffic areas.

AIRFLOW & VENTILATION: The venues air-conditioning system will use maximum capability for outside air in ventilation and both venues will operate at 100% outside air capacity with no recirculating of air.
